Marta Maioli, from Lake Garda, and Cristiana Venturini, from Asolo and now based near Venice, founded More than Weddings after earlier careers in fashion, cinema, journalism and tourism. Both are certified to perform symbolic ceremonies themselves, a detail most planner pages leave to an outside officiant.
The agency states its geography plainly rather than vaguely: home ground is the Veneto, Verona, Venice, Asolo, Lake Garda and the Dolomites, with named destination pages reaching further to the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Apulia, Sardinia and Sicily. Wedding day was perfect
We would like to thank Marta and Cristiana for the amazing day they created for us on the beautiful Amalfi coast. Everything from start to finish was perfect and as planned which is very unusual for the South of Italy! There's no way we could have pulled this off without the help of local knowledge and contacts. We were probably not the easiest couple to work with, with our weirdest demands and a late change of plans, but Marta and Cristiana never argued or pushed their opinion and did a completely bespoke wedding of our dreams. We could feel every moment that they wanted to do the best job possible and always considered cultural differences. Weekly skype calls for progress updates were a brilliant way of keeping us assured and listening to what we thought. We can't believe wedding planners usually get unnoticed during the wedding but they spent so much time with us or work on our wedding, we can't thank them enough. Initially, they spent a lot of time getting to know us better, and in the remaining time, we felt that we could entrust every decision to them because they knew us so well. They organised kick-off meetings with the suppliers: we went to Italy for 2 days but every minute was planned out and we met many different suppliers and chose together the preferred ones and now we can comfortably say we made the perfect choices! The wedding day was perfect, prayers for a sunny day were heard and everything from start to finish was above perfect. We did not have to worry about anything on the day but most importantly seeing smiles on Marta's and Cristiana's faces gave us total peace of mind.
