The Kayon Valley Resort Ubud

A jungle valley resort above the Petanu River near Ubud, Bali: the floating Puspaka Sky Wedding Chapel, 22 private pool villas, and real, published wedding packages rather than pricing withheld until enquiry.

Most Ubud wedding venues quote a price only after a proposal, a call, an email exchange. The Kayon Valley Resort Ubud publishes its wedding packages outright, with real numbers attached, for a floating chapel built around a story from the Ramayana. It is a small, deliberate property — 22 villas, one wedding venue, a concept built explicitly for two.

How Weddings Work Here

The Kayon Valley Resort Ubud sits on the Ubud hillside, enveloped by the Petanu River and lush rainforest, ten minutes from the town centre. Its own name translates as "tree of life creations", and the resort takes that literally: 22 private pool villas step through the jungle valley across five real categories, and every wedding here happens at one real, dedicated venue — the Puspaka Sky Wedding Chapel.

Ceremony

The Puspaka Sky Wedding Chapel is a floating, covered structure designed around a story from the Ramayana: after Rahwana kidnaps Shinta, she proves her devotion to Rama by walking into fire, and the God of Surya protects her, turning the flames into fragrant petals. Rama then carries her home in the Puspaka royal carriage. The chapel, built with an antique Balinese carriage motif and dressed in local flowers, seats up to 35 guests, or holds 50 standing.

Wet Weather Plan

Because the Puspaka Chapel is itself a covered, floating structure rather than an open lawn, it functions as its own wet-weather-resilient venue — but a specific separate indoor alternative, if one is needed for a larger group, has not been confirmed on the sources checked for this article.

Reception, Dinner & Dancing

Every real, published wedding package includes a six-course candlelit dinner with wine, served either in-villa for the smallest In Villa package or at the wedding chapel itself, with its existing floral decoration, for the Intimate and Enchanting packages. A wine toast and a decorated wedding cake follow the ceremony in every tier.

Accommodation

The wedding party stays across 22 private pool villas: 13 Kayon Valley Pool Villas with valley views, 4 Kayon Jungle View Pool Villas where the pool seems to merge into the canopy, a single Kayon Premier Garden Pool Villa with its own large private garden, 2 Kayon Premier Pool Villas, and 2 Kayon Premier Pool Villas with Spa Bath, the resort's most elevated category. Every villa has its own private pool.

Food & Wedding Dining

Catering is in-house. Whether an outside caterer can be brought in for a specific dietary or cultural requirement has not been independently confirmed for this article — worth asking directly if that matters to a shortlist decision.

Wedding Planning & On-the-Day Support

Every real, published package includes a Personal Wedding Assistant, named explicitly in the resort's own package inclusions — genuine on-the-day support rather than a booking form and a hope.

The Destination & What Guests Can Do

Beyond the wedding, the resort leans into its own "honeymoon and healing" positioning: Serayu Spa, an infinity pool perched ten metres above the jungle valley, and the wider cultural draw of Ubud itself, ten minutes away. The resort's access restrictions (no children under 15, no seniors or mobility-impaired guests, no drones, no durian, no pets) are worth knowing before inviting a wider guest list — this is built for an intimate, adult celebration.

Getting There & Guest Logistics

The resort is about ten minutes from central Ubud. A precise transfer time from Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS) has not been confirmed for this article — ask the resort directly when planning guest logistics.

Wedding Costs & Commercial Conditions

Real, published wedding packages run from Rp 23,000,000++ for the In Villa package to Rp 38,500,000++ for the Enchanting package, each with a clearly listed set of inclusions rather than a vague "on enquiry" quote. An Elegance package also exists, with additional photo and video documentation, though its exact price was not fully captured for this article.
