Marsciano, Perugia, Umbria, Italy

The wedding agency that started out building sets.

Eleonora Bonomi did not train as a wedding planner. She graduated in Science and Technology for Artistic Production, specialised in Cinematic Scenography, and worked on film and theatre productions in Italy and abroad. The company she then founded built scenographic set-ups for corporate events, and only later became a wedding agency. Everything that follows is downstream of that. The design is drawn and rendered before it is quoted. The pieces are made in a workshop. The flowers are cut by florists on the payroll. What arrives on the day is the thing the couple was shown, because the people who showed it are the people who built it.

Eleonora Bonomi

Eleonora Bonomi was born in Perugia and says the region is the one she most enjoys promoting, for its natural beauty and its long history. Art, entertainment and cultural events decided her course of study early. She graduated in Science and Technology for Artistic Production, specialised in Cinematic Scenography, and worked for several years on the sets of film and theatre productions in Italy and abroad. The need to combine creative work with a young family is what turned that into a company.

Her description of what scenography taught her is the most useful sentence on her website, and it is not about beauty. Every detail must be functional to tell a story, without unnecessary decoration, and it is the craftsmanship that gives value to a project. She adds that having a general view of the whole event is one of the greatest gifts you can have, like a painter who sees the finished work in his mind. Her colleagues, who wrote her page for her because she finds it hard to talk about herself, describe her out of season driving around Italy and Europe looking for makers whose objects she likes. A personality somewhere between wanderer and visionary artist, they call her.

The Promise

We do not feed impossible dreams.

The sentence is theirs, from the page about set design, and it is a strange thing to publish in a business that sells imagination. What follows it is stranger and better. We never propose solutions that cannot become reality, and we do not embark on enterprises that we know we are unable to carry out. A design studio with a workshop behind it can say that. One without a workshop is guessing.

Four phases, and none of them starts with a photograph.
How They Work

Four phases, and none of them starts with a photograph.

Phase one is a short questionnaire and a call, to find out what the couple actually needs and whether the two sides suit each other. Phase two is the venue search and the date, run only for couples who have confirmed the collaboration, and worked against the guest numbers and the budget rather than against a mood. Phase three is the suppliers, which the agency describes as the part that puts most couples into crisis, and which it answers with a list it has already skimmed rather than an open field. Phase four is the detail, at which point the design work begins in earnest. The wedding day management service runs on its own clock, starting four to six weeks out, with every supplier contacted and a single shared programme circulated to all of them.

Wedding Design and Set Design

A shared image board, then a moodboard, then scenographic sketches of anything to be made to measure, then a 3D rendering that studies the lights and the placing of every table. Then, if it is needed, a physical compositional test. The agency prefers to hand this over as one turnkey piece of work with itself as the only contact party.

Full and Partial Planning

Full Planning runs the event from the first conversation to the wedding day, across every organisational, financial and aesthetic decision. Partial Planning is for couples who have already booked a venue or started the ceremony paperwork and want an expert alongside rather than in front.

Wedding Day Management

Starts four to six weeks out. A month before, the agency takes the checklists and the contact details of every supplier, calls each one to understand how they work, and issues a single timed programme to all of them. On the day it supervises the build and the strike, the timeline, the ceremony, the guests and whatever goes wrong.

Budget Optimisation

A service for couples deciding whether the wedding they are imagining is actually affordable in Italy. It divides the budget across the real market cost of each item, holds a control file of estimated against actual spend, and sits in on the supplier negotiation through to signature. Their own reason for it is that prices found on forums are not always truthful.

Umbria

The green heart of Italy, and the one region on the peninsula that touches neither the sea nor a foreign border. The landscape here has not been rearranged for visitors. Hill towns on limestone spurs, oak woods, olive terraces, and an abbey or a castle in most valleys. It sits under Tuscany and above Rome, which is the whole logistical argument for it.

Castles and Abbeys

A remote medieval castle, or a former monastery restored well enough to hold a whole party for a weekend. The agency has filmed several of them as locations in their own right, among them Castello di Monterone above Perugia and the eighth-century abbey of San Pietro in Valle.

Villas and Noble Houses

Period villas with Italian gardens and dining halls, and town palaces inside the historic centres. Villa Pianciani outside Spoleto, an elegant historic residence of the late eighteenth century, is the one the agency chose to film first.

Beyond Umbria

The practice is Umbrian and says so, but it does not stop at the border. Clients have written about a micro wedding in Tuscany and about a wedding in Rome in May 2026 that took almost two years to plan. The 5 Star listing puts it plainly: events in Umbria and all over Italy.

Joyce and Eleonora were wonderful to work with! Both sweet and gracious with their suggestions. They executed my vision perfectly! All the decor, props and lighting was everything I wanted.

Investment

One Contact. One Supplier. One Budget.

Weddings at This venue typically represent a total investment of Bespoke, depending on guest count, season, and the level of bespoke elements chosen.

Dream On Wedding publishes no planning fee, and neither does its directory listing, so the honest description is that the fee is quoted against the event. What it does publish is something more useful, which is how the money is structured. The agency sets out the two kinds of wedding company a couple will meet in Italy: the consulting agency, where you pay a planner for advice and then sign a contract with every supplier yourself, and the structured agency, which in its own words will manage your whole budget so that you only have to have one contact person and one supplier. Dream On is the second kind, and it can be because the design studio, the florists, the props and the trucks are all inside the company. On the question of total cost the agency is more forthcoming than most: its own guide to 2027 puts an intimate wedding in Italy at 25,000 to 35,000 euro, the most common band for international couples at 40,000 to 60,000, a premium multi-day weekend at 60,000 to 90,000 and above, and the most exclusive weddings above 100,000. Those are whole wedding budgets, not a planning fee.

Ask about the shape before the number. Because the design, the flowers, the props and the transport sit inside the agency rather than across six invoices, the quote arrives as one figure and the comparison with a consulting planner is not like for like. Their own argument for it is unromantic and checkable: you will not pay delivery charges to several suppliers, because the vans that arrive are theirs. Their published warning is worth as much. The costs you will pay are clear from the start and there will be no surprises at the end.

All pricing is indicative. Final investment varies by date, guest count, menu, and bespoke requirements. Contact the venue directly for a tailored proposal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dream On Wedding Team

A method for reading a space before decorating it. Eleonora Bonomi trained in cinematic scenography and worked on film and theatre sets, and the agency describes its own approach as starting from the story you want to tell your guests and building it inside the space, as in the theatre or the cinema. It also brings the discipline of a technical budget: on a set, a design that cannot be built is not a design.

Eleonora Bonomi buys the objects she wants in larger quantities than one wedding needs, because ordering more brings the unit price down. What the wedding uses goes to the wedding. What is left goes into the showroom, where couples can buy the pieces they fell for. The agency's own claim is that this is why its clients get genuinely unusual setups while paying less for them.

The agency's own list is a good one: a remote medieval castle, a former monastery restored to hold a party for a weekend, a country hamlet or a hill town off the usual route, an agriturismo for a country wedding, a noble town palace, or a period villa with an Italian garden and a dining hall. It has filmed several of them, including Castello di Petrata, as locations in their own right.

For couples who want to know whether the wedding they are picturing is financially possible in Italy before they fall in love with a venue, and for couples already planning who have lost the thread of their own spending. It analyses the brief against real market costs, apportions the budget item by item, and keeps a control file of estimated against actual expenditure so nothing arrives as a surprise in month nine.

Yes. Their words are that they love working with other suppliers, that there is no problem if you already have some or want additional offers, and that they are always open to innovative solutions. The in-house studio is offered as an option that removes risk, not as a condition.

Propose something that cannot be built. Their design page says it directly: we never propose solutions that cannot become reality, we do not feed impossible dreams and we do not embark on enterprises that we know we are unable to carry out. The whole creative process, they add, stays tied to what is achievable in technical and budgetary terms.
