Meet Nicola

Nicola Roberton left a job in PR to become a florist. She grew up making tiny bouquets from wildflowers on the walk home from school in Kennington, and after she and her husband David moved back to Oxfordshire to raise their children, she started growing flowers in her own garden, then selling small bunches at the school gate. A first wedding request followed, and within a couple of years she took the plunge into it full time, founding Foxgloves & Roses in 2011.

By 2017 she had dressed around a hundred weddings and was shortlisted for the UK's Best Wedding Florist title at the UK Wedding Awards, a public-vote nomination covered at the time by the Oxford Mail. She now works from a barn on a hill in Letcombe Bassett, in the chalk downland south of Wantage, and keeps a private monthly practice she calls the Artist's Table, still-life studies built from whatever the garden and hedgerow are offering that month.
