A Georgian mansion in 100 acres of Buckinghamshire parkland, hired exclusively for one wedding at a time.
Hedsor House is a Georgian country mansion in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, hired on an exclusive basis for one wedding at a time. Set in 100 acres of parkland above the Thames Valley, it offers a civil ceremony licence, Centre Hall for 150, evening celebrations for up to 250 in total, and overnight accommodation for 26, forty minutes from central London.
Hedsor House is a Georgian mansion set in almost 100 acres of parkland above the Thames Valley, forty minutes by car from central London. Designed by the architect James Knowles for the 4th Lord Boston and completed in 1868 in an unusual Italian Villa style, complete with a domed hallway, the house remains owned and managed by the Shephard family, now in its fourth generation. It opened as a wedding and events venue in 2007, and has since appeared on screen in productions including The Golden Compass, The Crown and Downton Abbey.
The house is hired on an exclusive basis, one wedding at a time: couples can marry in any of four ground-floor rooms licensed for civil ceremonies, on the manicured lawns or in the sunken garden, or at St Nicholas' Church, a 12th-century parish church a short walk from the house, for couples with a qualifying connection to the parish. Centre Hall seats up to 150 for a wedding breakfast, and up to 100 additional evening guests can join, for 250 in total; a stretch tent on the terrace or croquet lawn adds extra covered space, though marquees themselves are not permitted. Twenty-six guests can stay overnight in the House itself, with The Hive, a self-catering cottage in the grounds, available for the night before.

This venue and the team are quite simply a dream! We started planning our wedding last year and from day one, Michele was so helpful and organised and we genuinely could not ask for more. Around a month before our wedding, we were put in touch with Tricia who was also amazing and made us feel so loved and special. On the day of our wedding we had a whole team looking after us, and even though it rained a little during our Persian ceremony, Tricia, Michele and Amanda made sure everything went smoothly. Thank you SO much for everything you all done for us over the past year. Myself and my husband would 1000% recommend Hedsor House!
