Sweet Pea Floral Design is a Hackney-based floral atelier, founded by Marianne Johnson in 2008, creating considered wedding flowers and full venue transformation across London and beyond.
Sweet Pea Floral Design works from a busy studio in Hackney, East London, a few streets from the Downs, creating floral design for weddings, events and shoots across London and further afield. The atelier was founded in 2008 by Marianne Johnson, who trained under Jane Packer before working for some of London's grandest florists on luxury events and celebrity weddings.
The studio's own description of its style is unstructured and considered: asymmetric, often with recessed stems and trailing foliage for movement, built from seasonal flowers hand-selected on an early morning trip to the market. The work runs from a single bridal bouquet to full venue transformation, floral staircases, foliage walls, floor-standing urns, and has dressed some of the capital's most storied addresses, including Claridge's, The Ned, The Lanesborough and 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, with a client list that includes Tate, the Natural History Museum, Mappin and Webb and Linda Farrow.

Marianne Johnson is one of London's most respected florists, with more than a decade at the forefront of floral design. She trained under the iconic Jane Packer before working for some of London's most prestigious florists on luxury events and celebrity weddings, and founded Sweet Pea in 2008 to reflect her own intimate and artistic approach. Born and raised in London, Marianne has always loved the city's relentless pace and creativity, but she craves the peace of the natural world in equal measure. It's this balance, between the vibrancy of the city and the beauty of the outdoors, that defines her own individual style: romance and wildness combined in rich, generous compositions that are both thoughtful and unexpected.

Sweet Pea was our florist in July and after our first meeting with Marianne we knew we were in good hands, her ideas and vision were spot on. On the day our entrance arch, Ceremony displays and staircase arrangements were stunning! The table decorations and additional arrangements for our meal were also superb. The flowers were beautiful, the perfect colours for our theme. Marianne is a true professional, an outstanding florist and we wholeheartedly recommend her and her team. Thank you so much!

"I'm Marianne, the founder of Sweet Pea Floral Design. I trained under Jane Packer and worked for some of London's most prestigious florists on luxury events and celebrity weddings before starting my own studio in 2008. I'm involved in every wedding personally, from the first consultation to being on-site, and my team and I still make the early market trip ourselves to hand-select every stem."
