One architect, twenty-five years, and a studio that owns the villa, the kitchen and the flowers.
Angelo Garini is an architect who has designed Italian weddings from a Milan studio since 2001. The concept, the scenography, the flowers, the lighting and the table come from one office, and so does the kitchen. His family house on Lake Maggiore is a wedding venue in its own right.
Angelo Garini trained as an architect and has spent twenty-five years designing celebrations instead of buildings. He founded Garini Immagina in Milan in 2001 as an event and interior design studio, and the shape of the practice has not changed since: one hand on the concept, the scenography, the flowers, the lighting and the table, with the whole thing drawn from the room outwards rather than assembled from suppliers.
He calls the job emotion design, which sounds like a slogan until you look at what sits underneath it. He wrote the Italian manual on wedding planning and publishes it on his own imprint. He publishes a magazine, Immagina. He co-hosts a podcast. He runs a banqueting kitchen under his own name, so the food and the table are designed by the same office that designed the room. And he keeps his family house on Lake Maggiore, Villa Garini e Cà Bianchetti, as a wedding venue, with a Romanesque church in the grounds and two private moorings on the water.
The studio works the length of Italy, from a frescoed hall in Florence to a table laid in front of the trulli in Puglia, and it takes Italian couples and inbound destination couples alike. Requests arrive ten to fourteen months out. The first meeting is a conversation, and it costs nothing.

No fee is published, and none ever has been: the archived versions of the studio site from 2012, 2018 and 2023 carry no figure either. Each celebration is quoted against its own brief. The first consultation is free. Ask for the design and planning fee and the banqueting figure as two separate numbers, because the studio holds them separately, and expect venue hire and outside suppliers to be contracted and paid on their own.
Requests reach the studio ten to fourteen months before the date. Angelo Garini estimates about a month of his own working time per celebration and runs the site visits himself, so the diary rather than the fee is usually the binding constraint.
Angelo Garini handles wedding, event and design enquiries. Valerie Garini handles anything centred on Villa Garini e Cà Bianchetti. Those are the two names the studio publishes on its own contact page. There are also associated salotti in Verona, covering Veneto and Lake Garda, and in Maglie in the province of Lecce, covering Puglia.
Yes. Villa Garini e Cà Bianchetti is at Via San Defendente 16, Ceresolo, Laveno, in the province of Varese, on Lake Maggiore. The park runs to twelve thousand square metres, the Romanesque church of San Defendente stands in the grounds for religious ceremonies, civil ceremonies take place at Palazzo Perabò nearby, and the Barchessa della Regina pavilion seats around 130 to 150 depending on the source (the villa does not publish its own figure). It is 75 km from Milan, 35 km from Lugano and 25 km from Malpensa.
The studio runs its own banqueting operation, so the menu, the service and the table can come from the same office as the design. It is optional and it is priced separately. If the venue you have chosen has an exclusive caterer, the studio works with them instead.
Yes. The studio describes its remit as the most beautiful locations in Italy and the portfolio bears that out: Florence, Puglia, the Veneto and Lombardy all appear in it, for Italian couples and for couples flying in.
