Castello di Montignano: An Exclusive Castle Wedding in the Hills of Umbria

Ceremonies are held in the medieval cloister courtyard, beneath the stone arches, or within the vaulted halls: the fireplace hall, the arch hall, the imperial room. The property holds a civil ceremony licence. The courtyard, with the castle facade rising behind it and the olive tree at the far end, holds up to 120 for the ceremony before the celebration moves to the park for up to 250.

Restaurant Materiaprima works only with local Umbrian ingredients. Every dish is made in-house, served by candlelight in the medieval stone dining room or, in summer, under the stars in the Hortus Conclusus garden. Three days of exclusive use means three meals: the welcome dinner on arrival, the wedding feast, and the morning-after breakfast.

Beneath the courtyard, the Acqua Degna Spa occupies the castle's original dungeons: a hydromassage pool fed from a historical source, a tepidarium at 37 degrees, a caldarium and a frigidarium, chromotherapy showers carved into the stone, and organic treatments from Paolo Caschera.

A castle reserved for you alone. Twelve rooms, named after the families who have owned the castle since 962, sleep the whole wedding party within the stone walls. The outdoor pool, the cloister, the gardens and the dungeons below are all part of the same exclusive stay. Castello di Montignano hosts one wedding at a time.
