Pandza's route into weddings was not direct. She worked and studied through her twenties in Rome, eventually graduating from the University of Rome in Foreign Languages and Literatures, and today speaks five: Italian, English, Croatian, Serbian and Russian. In 2015 she published an autobiographical novel about the journey from Croatia to Italy, titled 'A Girl with a Suitcase.' Pricing at Sanda Pandza Events is not published, a fact consistent with a client list that has included some of the most photographed weddings of the past two decades. Fees are quoted individually, built around the scope of the celebration: venue research and selection, complete event design, vendor referrals and contract negotiation, hotel room blocks and transportation, menu tastings, rehearsal management and full on-the-day coordination. For couples used to comparing published packages, the absence of a price list is itself a signal about the kind of client the company is built to serve.

What is harder to quantify, and probably more useful to a couple weighing planners, is the biography behind the business. A planner who fled a war with a suitcase, rebuilt a life and a career from nothing in a foreign city, and then spent two decades solving the logistics of some of the most scrutinised weddings on earth, is unlikely to be rattled by a delayed flower delivery or a difficult mother-in-law. It also explains a certain discretion that runs through how the company presents its most famous work. The Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wedding is acknowledged rather than exhibited: named in client testimonials and press coverage, but not treated as the centrepiece of the company's own marketing in the way a newer planner might lean on a single high-profile booking. Twenty-three years and hundreds of weddings later, one very famous wedding is simply one entry among many, evidence of a track record rather than the whole of it.
