Inside, the castle keeps its baronial grandeur, a carved oak staircase, panelling, a great hall with an open fire and a stag above the hearth, an elegant drawing room, a book-lined library and a vaulted snooker room, alongside a private chapel for the vows. Outside, the award-winning walled gardens are a world of clipped topiary, stone urns and wildflowers, with the castle and its tower mirrored in the still loch, an idyllic setting for a ceremony, for drinks and for photographs.

We got married at Guthrie Castle and we can honestly say it was the most wonderful experience. We booked the castle for two nights and had exclusive use, and from the time we arrived we could not fault anything. Craig and his staff catered for our every need, and the wedding breakfast was gorgeous, a big talking point with our guests. Craig ensured the whole wedding ran to time and on plan, and even managed to arrange some beautiful weather.
