The London EDITION is one of the most glamorous hotels in the city, a five-star design hotel dreamed up by Ian Schrager, the man behind Studio 54 and the boutique-hotel movement, and Marriott, set behind a Grade II listed Georgian facade on Berners Street in Fitzrovia. It is a wedding venue for couples who want the drama and polish of a great city hotel rather than a country house: warm, dark, theatrical, and unmistakably London.
Its heart is Berners Tavern, Jason Atherton's soaring restaurant, its walls hung salon-style with hundreds of framed pictures beneath a vast ornate plaster ceiling, one of the most photographed rooms in London and a spectacular setting for a wedding breakfast. Alongside it are the sculptural lobby lounge, chequerboard-floored beneath silver egg sculptures and a stone fireplace, and the award-winning Punch Room, an intimate panelled cocktail bar, giving a wedding a sequence of glamorous rooms for the ceremony, the dinner and the drinks.
