Pentillie Castle stands above the River Tamar on the border of Cornwall and Devon, a privately owned family estate of woodland, gardens and rolling parkland running down to the water. Grand in name yet intimate by nature, the castle is hired exclusively for weddings, given over to a single couple and their party from arrival to departure, a minimum of two nights, with its 11 bedrooms and its reception rooms entirely theirs.
The castle's historic reception rooms host the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast for up to 60, without the need for a marquee, and for larger celebrations the lawns and terraces take a marquee for up to 200. Pentillie welcomes couples of every faith and tradition, with a genuine choice of ceremony settings across the estate, from a celebrant-led ceremony under the wisteria to vows at the riverside Bathing Hut, a chuppah, a Nikah, or a hand-tying beneath the trees.
Around the day, the estate is the party's own: a games room, a farmhouse kitchen, an outdoor solar-heated pool and sauna, garden games on the Old Tennis Lawn, sparklers at dusk, and woodland avenues that lead down to the Tamar. It is a castle that behaves like a family home, and a wedding here unfolds at exactly the pace the couple chooses.

Pentillie is a beautiful venue in a fantastic setting which, along with the ability to have our closest friends and family stay with us for the entire weekend, is what made it stand out. The staff however are what make it special. If we wanted something, it was already done. We didn't have to think about a thing and everything ran perfectly. I cannot overstate how fantastic they were.
