Amberley Castle is one of the most romantic wedding venues in West Sussex, a medieval castle dating to around 1103, enclosed by a high curtain wall and entered beneath a working portcullis, on the doorstep of the South Downs near Arundel. Twelve acres of landscaped gardens, roamed by a resident white peacock, surround the ancient stonework, and the whole castle is available for exclusive use, so a couple has the run of the towers, courtyards, dining rooms and gardens for their day.
Ceremonies are held in the castle's characterful rooms. The Great Room, entered through an archway dating back to 1103, seats up to 56 guests, with views across the courtyard and direct access to the gardens; the wood-panelled King Charles I Room, with its fireplace and views over the South Downs, makes an intimate setting for up to 12. The Queen's Room is also licensed for ceremonies, and three unique dining rooms host the wedding breakfast, each with its own character.
A Relais and Chateaux hotel, Amberley Castle has 19 individually designed rooms and suites, some set within the ancient walls, furnished with antiques and fine fabrics, with Vispring beds and L'Occitane bathrooms. The castle's own kitchen cooks refined, contemporary menus for canapes and the wedding breakfast, and for larger celebrations a marquee can be raised in the gardens. Amberley Castle has 19 individually designed rooms and suites, each unique and in keeping with 900 years of history. Every room is furnished with antiques and fine fabrics; some are set within the castle's ancient walls, beneath gothic-arched windows and beamed ceilings, others with four-poster beds and cushioned window seats. All have crisp white linen, sumptuous Vispring beds and contemporary bathrooms with L'Occitane. Taken for exclusive use, the whole castle sleeps the wedding party within the curtain wall, so the celebration becomes a night, and a morning, inside the castle.

Dining at Amberley Castle is by the castle's own kitchen, refined and contemporary cooking that draws on the seasons and the produce of the South Downs. Canapes and Champagne open the celebration in the courtyards or the panelled lounges, and the three-course wedding breakfast is served in one of three characterful dining rooms, from the vaulted stone hall to the intimate, wood-panelled King Charles I Room. Menus are chosen with the couple, and the kitchen caters throughout the day and into the evening.
