Italian Event Planners

Ilaria Guarino and Serena Ranieri call themselves lifelong friends before they call themselves business partners. Fifteen years and roughly fifty-five real weddings later, inside the agency built on that order.

Italian Event Planners was founded in 2011 by Ilaria Guarino and Serena Ranieri, who describe themselves on their own site as business partners and founders but, first, lifelong friends and sisters in spirit. Fifteen years on, that ordering still shows up in how the agency plans a wedding: as a shared project between people who like each other, not a service delivered from a script.

Their own gallery runs to roughly fifty-five real, named weddings, and the range across it is the clearest evidence of what fifteen years actually built. Hindu ceremonies recur more than once, hands joined mid-ritual under floral canopies, officiants in saffron robes guiding exchanges the couples are visibly moved by rather than merely posing for. A Scottish groom in a kilt at a sunflower arch on a Tuscan hillside. Traditional Chinese wedding dress, red and gold, on a gravel drive through a Tuscan park. Two brides on a Positano beach at dusk, the hillside town lit up behind them. None of it reads as a single house style stretched to cover different clients; it reads as an agency that has genuinely planned this many different kinds of weddings.
Client reviews on their own site describe how that range gets managed in practice, and the recurring word is presence. One couple, planning from New York with a first meeting in Capri roughly a year before the wedding, describes countless conversations over the following twelve months and a team constantly available in spite of a six-hour time difference. Another, organising a three-day destination wedding in Sardinia, describes the team as available 24/7 and, more tellingly, as having become real personal friends and advisors rather than event organisers. A third, planning from Chicago, credits Ilaria and Serena with keeping a live budget spreadsheet updated throughout and helping scale spending back without cutting anything the couple actually wanted.
The wedding that anchors this profile, Amanda and Giacomo's, ran in the Umbria region and produced both a full written review and an owned film on the agency's own YouTube channel, titled simply: a never ending love for Umbria. The review describes a team that broke the planning process down step by step, arranged a welcome party the night before the wedding, and coordinated so well with suppliers that, in the couple's own words, the wedding day was beyond what we had dreamed of. It is a useful case study precisely because it is not the most dramatic wedding in the portfolio, no clifftop or private island, just a full-service job done thoroughly and photographed honestly.
Geography is the other axis worth tracing. Their own About page names the range directly: from the iconic Palladian villas of the Veneto region to the sun-kissed cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, from the romantic shores of Lake Como to the enchanting castles hidden in the picturesque hills of Italy's tiniest villages. Their own site's content volume corroborates it at scale, seventy-one posts tagged Tuscany alone, with Amalfi Coast and Sorrento, Umbria, the Italian lakes, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily and Rome all represented behind it. A client review of a three-day Sardinia wedding, independent of anything the agency's own marketing copy claims, confirms that reach is not confined to the mainland.

The coastal cluster around Capri, Positano and Ravello is where the agency's own written testimonials are most detailed, and the hero image on this profile, a couple on a clifftop balcony above Ravello with the full Amalfi Coast laid out behind them, belongs to exactly that story: a wedding weekend that moved from a welcome dinner through a Capri boat tour to the ceremony itself and a post-wedding beach club party, with every transition between towns handled by the team rather than left to the couple to figure out. The review that describes it uses a phrase that recurs across several of their client testimonials, in one form or another: the sense of a team that feels like family rather than a supplier.
None of this is achieved by two people alone. Annachiara Varriale, described on the agency's own site as a highly experienced multilingual destination wedding planner, works alongside Ilaria and Serena, and one client review specifically credits all three, noting that each member of the team has their own strengths and that it was amazing being able to rely on each of them for different aspects. For couples marrying across language barriers, in particular, that multilingual capacity is not incidental: it is what makes a Hindu ceremony, a Chinese-tradition wedding, or a Scottish-Italian pairing possible to run smoothly rather than merely photograph attractively.
The lake weddings in their own portfolio make a similar point about range in a quieter register. A varnished wooden boat crossing Lake Como, lakeside villas passing behind the couple, appears more than once in their real gallery, and a companion frame shows the same style of boat pulling away from a dock, the couple waving as it goes. Neither photograph is a ceremony or a reception; both are the kind of moment a planner only captures on purpose, by making sure a boat, a driver and a photographer are all in the right place at the right time on a day that already has a dozen other logistics competing for attention. It is a small, unglamorous example of the same coordination that shows up in the client reviews describing welcome dinners, boat tours and post-wedding brunches as part of the same job as the ceremony itself.
The Abruzzo elopement in their gallery is worth dwelling on for a different reason: it is the one wedding here without a coastline, a crowd, or a historic villa behind it, just two people on a bare golden hillside with mountains receding into haze. An agency built entirely around grand Amalfi Coast panoramas or Tuscan estate weddings would have no obvious reason to plan, or even photograph well, a stripped-back mountain elopement. That it appears in the same portfolio as a Ravello clifftop wedding and a Positano beach club party suggests the agency's actual range is wider than its most photogenic destinations alone would imply, and that couples wanting something quieter are not being steered toward a bigger production than they asked for.
What the agency will not do is publish a rate card, and the reasoning is visible in the client reviews themselves: wedding scopes vary too widely for one to make sense. A single-day ceremony for a small guest list and a three-day, hundred-guest Sardinian celebration with a welcome party and transport for the entire group are not the same commission, and pricing them identically would either overcharge the first couple or underfund the second. The fee, instead, is quoted once a specific couple's specific plan is understood, which is also why the reviews so consistently mention budget management as a named service rather than an afterthought.
Weather, too, gets treated honestly rather than edited around. One image in their own gallery shows a couple kissing under a clear umbrella on a storm-lit hilltop terrace, shot in black and white rather than dressed up to disguise the rain, and a client review of what appears to be that same day uses strikingly similar language: absolutely perfect, even in the rain. It is a small detail, but it is consistent with everything else documented here, a team whose reputation rests on managing a real day well rather than manufacturing a flawless one.
Fifteen years, fifty-five documented weddings, nine Italian regions and at least four distinct religious or cultural wedding traditions is an unusually wide claim for a single agency to support with actual evidence rather than adjectives. Italian Event Planners supports it with named couples, dated reviews, an owned YouTube channel and a photography archive that does not repeat itself. For couples planning a wedding that does not fit a template, whether because of faith, culture, distance from Italy, or simply wanting something that has not already been done for someone else, that is the specific case being made here.
What is easy to miss, reading the reviews individually rather than together, is how consistently the same handful of qualities recur regardless of which wedding is being described: availability across time zones, a habit of managing budgets honestly rather than upselling, and a team that stays present through the whole week rather than handing off after the ceremony. Three different couples, on three different continents, in three different years, independently reach for close variations of the same language. That kind of consistency across unrelated testimonials is harder to manufacture than a single glowing review, and it is the strongest evidence here that the standard holds wedding after wedding rather than only on the ones chosen to be photographed best.
The multicultural range documented across this profile also answers a practical question a lot of couples marrying outside their own country actually have: whether a planner used to one style of ceremony can be trusted with a different one. A Hindu ceremony under garden trees, hands joined mid-ritual, an officiant guiding a sequence with its own specific order and meaning, sits in the same portfolio as a Tuscan castle-steps portrait and a Scottish kilt at a sunflower arch. Planning any one of those well requires knowing enough about the tradition in question to get the sequencing, the dress and the etiquette right, not just the photography. That fifteen years of named, dated weddings back this claim up, rather than a single showcase example standing in for a general promise, is the difference between a marketing line and a demonstrated capability.
