Hever Castle is one of the most storied wedding venues in England, a double-moated castle begun in the 13th century in the Kentish village of Hever, and above all the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. To marry here is to marry inside real history: the same panelled rooms, the same walled and moated keep, the same drawbridge and portcullis that the Boleyns knew, restored in the early 1900s by the American magnate William Waldorf Astor, who laid out the celebrated Italian Gardens and built the Astor Wing beside the castle.
Weddings are held in three distinct settings. The Astor Wing, a run of Tudor-style rooms around the Tudor Suite, hosts the ceremony in the licensed Sitting Room and the wedding breakfast in the Dining Room, for up to 60 guests. The castle itself offers a ceremony in the richly carved Inner Hall and a banquet beneath the Minstrels Gallery of the Great Hall, its stone fireplace crowned with the Boleyn coat of arms. And out in the grounds, the Italian Garden Loggia stands beside a 38-acre lake, a columned setting for a ceremony or drinks with the water beyond.
The estate caters in-house, with seasonal menus from its own kitchens, and offers bed and breakfast in two historic wings, 18 bedrooms in the Astor Wing and nine more in the Anne Boleyn Wing, so the wedding party stays the night by the moat and gardens. An evening reception carries on in the Moat Restaurant, a garden tipi or the Guthrie Pavilion, and the day unfolds where one of the most famous stories in English history began.

Hever Castle offers bed and breakfast in two historic wings beside the castle. The Astor Wing has 18 individually decorated bedrooms, the range of Tudor-style buildings William Waldorf Astor added in the early 1900s, and for exclusive use of the wing a number of these are taken by the wedding party. Subject to availability, nine further bedrooms can be booked in the Anne Boleyn Wing, and Medley Court, a self-catering cottage sleeping up to eight, can be added for a longer stay. It means the party can wake the morning after the wedding beside the moat and gardens, rather than scattering to hotels.

Wedding breakfasts are served beneath portraits and carved ceilings, in the Tudor Suite Dining Room for up to 60 or on the long banqueting tables of the castle Great Hall, with table linen, china and glassware included and full dietary, vegetarian and vegan catering.
